I share the personal story below, not to toot my own horn, but to hopefully inspire confidence, as I am nothing special.
As the title of this email suggests, before I started my bankruptcy petition drafting business, I not only had absolutely NO LEGAL EXPERIENCE, but also never been to college either. (believe me...I was lucky to graduate high school!).
One thing I did have though, is that I have always had an interest in owning my own business, and because of this, I also have a long history of failed attempts at making this dream a reality.
I had reached a point in life where I was burned out, and didn't have the energy to try my hand at another business opportunity.
About this time, a friend of mine approached me about a business opportunity meeting, and out of respect for him, I met with him to see what he had to offer, knowing that no matter what it was, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. It turns out that I was right, and although I could see possibilities in my friend's business idea, I didn't see anything left in me.
As I was explaining this to my friend, reality hit me like a 10 pound sledgehammer, and it dawned on me that me dream of running my own successful business, was gone, and the only option I had left, was to continue working a job for someone else...there was no hope, and no way out.
I became so filled with emotion from this realization, that I actually came to tears, which I choked back as hard as I could, in my best attempt to keep my friend from seeing my face. What an awkward moment.
I was broken inside, but life went on, and I continued going to my J-O-B (that's "Just Over Broke", for those who were wondering). What I didn't know though, is what God had in store for my future, and that it would take getting to this lowest low to get me where I needed to be to receive the gift he had in store for me.
What happened, you ask?
Well, without getting into too much detail, my wife and had been married 16 years at this point, and and it was still just the two of us. Having children hadn't come to fruition, and it was a challenging road to get there, but by the grace of God, we ended up with two amazing boys!
Before these two blessed events, we had made the decision that when the time came, that my wife would leave the 9-5, to stay home with with the kids, which at the time would require a MAJOR financial adjustment, as she brought home nearly 50% of our income.
Because of this 50% reduction in income, my wife suggested that she mind find something she could do working part-time at home, to still contribute toward the household finances, and mentioned that she would like to investigate the medical transcription business.
I offered to research this online for her, which I did, and in the process, somehow came across a website talking about drafting bankruptcy documents for attorneys, whick led me to 713training.com.
As I read all that I could, I suddenly became excited again, and without realizing it, God gave me the energy to start my own business...ONE MORE TIME! Fortunately, one more time is all that I needed!
I told my wife about this bankruptcy petition drafting business, and about that possibilities, and I didn't originally get the support I was hoping for, and as I told her how many petitions I could do per month, and how much we could make, she even told me "You just need to get ONE!".
Although not what I wanted to hear...she was right. BUT, I knew that if I could get one petition, I could get another, then another, and we would be successful.
So I decided to jump in, and purchased the Complete Complete Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Training Course, as well as the Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Petition Certification Exams, and began studying.
So here I was, 38 years old, no legal experience, no college degree, working a full time job and living off of 50% of what we had been just days earlier (my wife left work just shortly before the birth), a new baby, and starting my new adventure of becoming a virtual bankruptcy assistant (also known as a bankruptcy petition preparer).
With everything going on, it did take several months to study the materials and get the confidence that I could do the job, but it was WELL WORTH IT.
The time had come to start my bankruptcy petition drafting business, which took off pretty quickly.
I drafted 3 bankruptcy petitions my first month in business, and made just shy of $1,000.
I drafted 4 bankruptcy petitions the next month, and made $1,200.
Then the phone really started ringing, several attorneys sent work, and I closed my third month of business at just shy of $5,000!
I couldn't believe it! This was working PART-TIME in the evenings!
Again, I want to point out that I AM NOTHING SPECIAL. I just used the training materials offered by 713 Training to learn the skill of drafting bankruptcy petitions and marketing the service, then applied what I learned.
Now, with so much petition work coming in, I ask my wife, "Remember when you said that I just needed to get one?", and we laugh.
I don't know what other business a person can into that has such a low entry cost (basically the cost of your training materials), and grow it to $60,000 per year, working part-time, within a few short months.
Most people already have almost everything they need to do this business...a computer, internet access, and a phone...we just get to write them off on our taxes now (talk to your accountant or CPA).
And because this business is "virtual", and you work from home, instead of in an office, you can live anywhere you want!
Bankruptcy petition preparers work from a laptop anywhere you take it, from the kids' soccer games to your favorite beach.
I know that this business is not for everyone, but God gave me this business as a gift to my family, and He may intend it to be a gift for you and your family in a similar way.

Bankruptcies are expected to DOUBLE in the next 2 years, so those that get started now, will benefit the most.
